Thanks artdecogirly
Islandmaid thanks. I was tested but didn't have it with our first and he was fairly big 9lb 3 so I'm a bit worried that this one will be a whopper. I think I could get used to cauliflower rice if I persisted with it, I guess I'm just being lazy and looking for an easy option. See grapes and strawberries I was told I could only eat a couple of as they are naturally high in fructose, it's all so confusing!!This is the first week I've been testing my blood and I think I've managed it pretty well, only had two occasions where it was still above 8 an hour after I ate and they were quite high carb meals.
Krlyr I think it is to do with the GI but to be fair to the midwives they didn't have time to go through it with us so just basically told us not to add sugar to anything, have only a tiny amount of carbs, ideally avoiding them where you can. They phone each week for the blood readings so I'll ask about the couscous then. Thanks!0 -

Instead of looking for a substitute just eat differently. I roast very small florets of cauli, tossed in oil and curry powder, alongside slices of red onion and have it as a side dish to any curryDownshifted
