  • Only if you already get it - new claims are PIP standard/enhanced for care/mobility.

if you get DLA - of any sort - you may in some parts of the country be able to get low-rate care added to an existing claim on a change of circumstances.

This is the case for all under 16s and over 66(?)s.
And for those between those ages who are already claiming DLA, and not in the postcodes that trigger a migration to PIP on changes.
    New claims for children too.

No don't already get it, but was thinking of applying on behalf of DH.

Does applying for DLA involve an ATOS medical assessment the same as ESA. (BTW he already has to attend these assessments for ESA).

He can't apply for DLA - only PIP - which is the replacement benefit.
It may involve a medical, yes. It depends how much evidence you can supply that is specifically relevant to the PIP descriptors.
