Just spoke to someone at Britannia about my Select Access Saver 2 account and they've advised as of mid september that the interest rates for the 1, 2 and 3 versions of the accounts are dropping from 1.75% to 1.5% gross.

I had two fixed rate bonds with Britannia and they sent me letters advising of their new bonds which i could transfer into , a rate of 1.9% . Well we were away and returned about ten days before they were to mature , on 21st July i called to book an appointment and they did not have any , i booked the earliest appointment which was 4 days after the bonds had matured . At the appointment i was told i could not have the 1.9% as i had not done it before the maturity , so i was going to get 1.62% , well i was not amused , especially as they were the ones who did not allow me to do it before due to not having staff available to see me before the maturity . No budging either so i came home with two big cheques . Shall not be investing with them ever again , i have been a customer for 44 years !0
