Coil Failed On Vauxhall Corsa
Hi
Any comments appreciated.
My Wife has a 2011 Corsa.
Warning light came up on dashboard, took it into Vauxhall, who diagnosed it as needing new coil pack.
Typically the warranty had expired just a week earlier, so needing to have it done, stumped up the £400 that Vauxhall charged which I thought was excessive.
I just wanted to see really if this is a problem that should occur on a 3 year old car with 18,000 miles on it?
Just wanted to see peoples thoughts before I write to Vauxhall having a bit of a moan.
Thanks

OEM coil pack is around £200.00 inc vat, but an aftermarket one is around £80.00 for a decent one.
It takes around 10-15 mins to change one, they have charged you for diagnosis too which is anywhere between 80-£150.00 and hours labor.
if its serviced in the dealer network, perhaps you could ask for some cash back as a good will gesture but hold too much hope.0 -
My last BMW 3 series went into limp mode and the dealership diagnosed coil pack , replaced both while I waited and waved me on my way, no charge ,car was 4 years old.You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0
