London Eye tomorrow!

Hi can anyone advise on the most cost effective way of getting to London and back and riding the on the London Eye. It's just me & my 14 year old son travelling from Preston Park Station in Brighton and as the title says we'd like to go tomorrow.
Many thanks, Desdemona

I would recommend booking your ticket online in advance.

If you dont want to fast track then it would be £30.56 in total if you prebook or £35.95 in total if you pay on the day. You can still prebook now for tomorrow, you just collect your tickets when you are there.

I have been twice and fast tracked each time. You choose a specific time and the queue is alot shorter to go on. I imagine the queues can get quite long now its summer holidays. If you fast track it will be £55.10 in total prebooked or £59.00 in total on the day.

To get there, Waterloo is the closest station to the London Eye and is about five minutes walking distance. Its approx 1 hour from Brighton main station, you would need to change at Clapham Junction. If you go from Preston Park there will be two changes, London Bridge and London Waterloo East. Some of the journeys from Preston Park are three changes (first change at Brighton!) So might save time if you can get direct to Brighton station to depart from. Ticket prices are the same, whichever station you initially depart from.

We have driven there both times we have gone, but one time we went for a long weekend so didnt mind taking the car and the second time six of us went there but my FIL has a disabled badge so we were able to park for free right next to the eye. Also bear in mind you need to pay congestion charge if you are driving.

Train should be around £30ish return off peak in total or you can get a super off peak travel card for around £24 in total for both of you (according to National Rail website)

Hope you have a lovely day, and that its clear weather for you!

    I've been Money Tipped!
If you're going on the Eye then just across the road is the Duck.

I love this ride, it goes on the Thames and on road and the commentary is really fun as they include the passengers.
