Can I claim?

Have booked flights for next Feb, but my daughter has found that she is expecting her first baby 3 days after I go. My flight operator won't refund or change the dates, so would I be able to claim on my insurance? I obviously want to be with her at the time of birth as it's my first grandchild.

You will have to check your insurance policy to see if you are covered for such an event. I suspect not but you never know.
    :p
  • No, routine pregnancy is normally excluded from travel insurance. Only if it went wrong is there a chance of a claim under most policies.

Obv to get an absolute answer you need to speak to your travel insurance provider.

An ETD for next Feb won't necessarily be accurate anyway. The baby could come a week earlier or 2 weeks later.
I doubt that you could get anything back on insurance regardless of this.
  • O: ok, thanks for your replies, I guessed it would be a long shot.
