I have always subscribed to the theory. If you cant hide something, make a feature of it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
In our lounge have cream white on our walls and a period offwhite eggshell of on on our picture rails with brilliant white above and on ceilings. Looks great imo and I'd definitely always have a different colour above the rail than below it!
Same as me just off white below and brilliant white above really lifts the room.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
I've had 2nd thoughts, paint the rail in solvent based white gloss.
That way you will get to see both options as initially it will be bright white but very shortly fade to almost cream
:D:D
Yes , O do have a low opinion of recent solvent based paints for inside use.
Incidentally this is an instance of water based being the best option.
The rail is at high level and unlikely to get knocked so WB which doesn't fade indoors would be best .I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

He's just not a victim of fashion, that tomorrow will be gone.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

White gloss it - it won't look odd.
Or better still get rid of the picture rail and enter the 21st century.0 -
My house is quite old with high ceilings and i;ve done most of the picture rails mahogany and the freeze a different shade than the walls.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Retro and vintage are exactly that.
Clean and modern is exactly that too.
IMHO, naturally.0
