    i have loads of salmon portions in freezer with bb april 2014 date as shop sold it at £1 a bag in clearance...i eat it at least once a week and ive never been ill x

    I'd think twice if it was June 2013, but June 2014 will be absolutely fine.

    I ignore best before dates and I've never had a problem. In fact I've only ever had food poisoning once and that was from undercooked chicken at someone else's BBQ (and I caught the culprit snogging my ex-husband that night - he wasn't an ex at that point - so it was probably deliberate :rotfl:)

  • We HAVE to have leeks and cheese with yellow fish! Either cook leeks in milk and add the fish, cover with cheesy mashed potato and brown top in oven, or (just as nice!) do the fish in a cheese sauce then make leeky mash to put on top.

    Oh goodness yes, I made fish cakes using fish about 6 years past its 'best before' .. I then froze some of the fishcakes and had them months later..
