Hi, does anyone have any info on Trinidad - particularly being expat there? My hubby has been offered an expat post there. We've never been to the Caribbeans before and not sure what to expect. Researched on the Net and there's seems to be very limited info. Mostly to do with tourism. We want to know about stuff like - housing, food, crime rate, etc. Any info is much appreciated!

Thanks, saveapenny!
I just read a post that an American expat rented his home for USD3,500 a month and another guy rented his for USD2,000!! Either standards of living is rather high there or they are both staying luxury homes!0 -
Port of Spain isnt a very ncie place but the rest of the island is very pretty.
Things are expensive if you want imported stuff but thats the same as anywhere.
Take as many of the home comforts as you can with you, But I am sure you will ahve plenty of friends who want to come and stay for a few weeks in return for filling thier suitcases full of home goodies ...mmmm wonder if Tesco's.com deliver for £3.99 on TuesdaysIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
This move to Trini will really going to test my money saving skills to the limit! You have got me thinking about food. I suppose since it is a relatively small island, most things must be imported. I think all friends who come over must raid Tesco for me in exchange for accomodation!!! ;p0
