my son made blackberry (Bramble) wine one year - I do wish he would make more, as it was an absolutely stunning dessert wine!

Sounds nice too, but I don't have wine gear.

me neither! shame that - but I cant justify the expense at the moment of getting it.
but - I do have an idea - get a big jar fill it with Brambles then get some cheap brandy or vodka and pour it in.............leave for a few months..........say until Christmas - the result should be a delish liquer and some boozy brambles for Christmas dinner dessert!

I just put them in a bag in the freezer and can still take out a few at a time, they don't seem to stick together. Saves open freezing them first.

Another vote for wine here - Brilliant stuff! My gran used to lay down a big sideboard's worth of the stuff every year. Well, one half Bramble, the other Rhubarb.

Good Morning! I am just about to inspect my 'juice' after attempting black berry jelly for the first time yesterday! Bought 2 large muslin squares from the pound shop for a, well, pound and 2 jugs too. Simmered the blackberries in a pan with water whilst boiling the muslin squares in another in order to sterilise them. I then hung the squares containing the berries from my kitchen cupboard over a jug with a bit of string and have left them there over night. I have also attempted crab apples with damsons. I just need to get some sugar in order to make the jelly now. Unfortunately I didn't have any jars but I found two kiln jars with seals in TK Max next door to the Pound Shop for £1.50 odd each which will make a nice gift for Christmas if I am successful today!

    Blackberry brandy.
I'm going to try this this year, I think it's a third of a bottle of blackberries washed/cleaned and the same weight of sugar put them in a clean bottle (one with a screw top lid) and top up with brandy. Keep somewhere dark and shake once a week for at least 8 weeks. Then decant into little bottles for Christmas prezzies and a big one all to myself :)
