Faulty Mattress

I recently purchased a mattress from a 'clearance store' which has subsequently been deemed 'faulty' by the retail chain customer services as it has been checked by their team of professionals.
I purchased at a significant discount and as I love the mattress would simply like a replacement. However, I have been informed that they will not replace the item as a 'new one' is over 1000 pounds difference and that they will give me a mattress to the value of what I paid ONLY.
It seems that a like-for-like replacement is only valid if you pay full price.
Does anyone know if I have any rights to get a like-for-like replacement under the consumer goods act given that the goods are faulty? Obviously this might sit outside of their company policy which I have outlined above.
Many thanks for any comments.

Your only right is to a refund. I assume they have offered this, as you don't mention it.
You can ask for a replacement or repair, but its pretty much at their discretion.0 -
Many thanks ThumbRepair; No they have not offered a refund. They have not mentioned that at all.
I will have to enquire about that and remain disappointed
