Aviva want £158 from me - with £60 cashback through Quidco - £98
SAGA want £172 with no cashback and no mention of gap cover
Also SAGA do NOT offer a replacement car - if written off, as standard - they charge £24 for this "extension" what a ripoff !!
I guess that it is going to be Aviva !!0 -
I've just tried a quote with them and it includes new car replacement up to 12 months old as standard - no mention of a charge for an extension (Allianz was the underwriter).SAGA want £172 with no cashback and no mention of gap cover

I wouldn't expect them to mention GAP cover - the new car replacement is part of the Damage section.0 -

Motor insurers, including Saga, do not give GAP insurance but do a replacement vehicle instead.
Most RV policies are a combination of RV and financial GAP so will cover the greater of the outstanding finance and a replacement vehicle an so its not a directly equivalent comparison0 -

Just realised SAGA is 'exclusively for over 50' so I may have been offered a different (younger) product.0 -
I too am getting a new car on 1st September. Yeah! I am a bit confused about GAP insurance and new car replacement insurance in first 12 months.
So, would it be possible to buy normal car insurance with new car replacement and after 12 months buy the GAP insurance?0
