Samsung Tablet

Firstly im new so hello everyone, not sure if im in the right place but please tell me if I am.

My problem is my partner bought me a Samsung tablet in December from littlewoods catalogue, now in feb I noticed it shut down by its self and wouldn't come back on or even charge. my partner phoned littlewoods and reported the problem and they told him he will need to contact Samsung and report the problem to them. So he did and they said ok we will send you a jiffy bag to send it back to us, ok fair enough and we waited for the bag. in the meantime I thought I would see if it comes back on, and it did so I thought I would give a another chance as I never received the jiffy bag anyway, then it happened again, switched itself off even though there was 60% of battery life and wouldn't come on or charge for 2 days, again wemade another phone call to Samsung to have it sent to them, jiffy bag came and we sent it back. Two weeks later they called to say their technician could not find the fault and they will be sending it back to us. We got it back and sure enough the problem happened again! phoned Samsung and again said a jiffy bag will be sent to me to send it back once again, bag arrived sent it back and two weeks later another phone call to us to say that they could not find the fault and they will be sending it back to us, and guess what now it had another fault that occurred whilst it was in their care. Once again on the phone to Samsung this time they told us to go to a local Samsung repair dealer shop and they will sort it out for me. Ok did that on Thursday just gone left it with them and I received a call today saying that it will cost me £55 as it needs a new battery and my 2yr warranty only covers the battery for 6 months!! Obviously there is no way I am paying £55 when it was in samsungs care that the battery problem occurred, Phoned Samsung and told them of this problem and was told to give them one more chance to fix the problems and if they cant they will look further into the problem. Im totally fed up with it all now and not sure what I can do, any help or advice would gratefully appreciated

Hopefully you'll get some responses now that the wall of text is split up..

I would call Samsung again and try and get this escalated beyond customer services. I have done this with BlackBerry before and ended up with a new device for something through their fault and about 7 month down the line.

Just explain what you have mentioned here to their 'escalations' team or whatever they may call it.

You should also take a trip down to citizens advice, that is what I did wit the Blackberry I mentioned earlier, within around 3 hours after visiting the CAB I got a phone call from their head office to say I was getting a new handset.

Hopefully it won't have to go beyond CAB. Keep us updated.

Your warranty SOGA etc is with Littlewoods not Samsung .
The 2 year warranty from Samsung is a limited warranty your rights as a buyer are with Littlewoods .

The original problem reads to me as a dead/ faulty battery or charger .
The fact that battery's are not covered by longer warranty's is true .
  • Thank you to all who replied and NYGiants for sorting out my post lol. I will try and sort this problem out myself and if not I will be contacting CAB
