I've accidentally splashed a bit of Creosote on my new sandstone patio. I tried to wash it off instantly but to no avail. I presume its probably stained it permanently but i thought i would ask just in case anyone has any suggestions on how to remove it?Thanks

It's unlikely to be real creosote, this has been banned for some years now. Find out what it is - if it's oil-based then you're probably not going to have much luck. If it's water-based then scrub it with some washing-up liquid and spray it clean. This may work, but the trouble with sandstone is that it will absorb the stain, and you may have a lot of trouble getting it properly clean.
You say it's a new patio ? Are there any spare paving stones left over ? If so, it may be far easier to replace the one or two that are stained. Even if you have no spares, you should be able to buy some more pretty easily, and if the whole thing is new you're not going to have the problem of new stones looking out of place against weathered ones. Replacing just a couple of slabs is not difficult or expensive, I think this may well be your best option if you don't manage to get the stain out.0 -
its oil based, came from Wickes, i do have some left over so i guess that may be my best option. we did scrub it with washing up liquid as soon as we spotted it but it didn't seem to shift it.
I was thinking of getting a patio cleaner on it first to see if it would shift it but as you say its probably absorbed it all.kicking squealing gucci little piggy.0 -
If its oil based then (carefully) try scrubbing with some petrol on a rag0

Time ~ it will come off with time...
An other option is to cover it with something, plant pot or something. It will fade/wash off as the patio wears.0 -
