Default on credit report from when I was 14 years old

Just done a credit check as I was refused a Dorothy perkins store card. Looking back in 2008, when i was 14 I have a default on my account with express gifts. I don't recall buying anything and the original balance was only £25.
Where do I stand with this? Surely a child cannot cause a default?
Do i contact the company, or talk to credit report provider?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

Your right, A minor cannot enter into a credit agreement so therefore cannot be defaulted on a credit agreement contact the company first.

Although if you cant be anoyed with the hassle it will drop off this year anyway, what month does it say?

It was opened december 2008 it says, went default May 09, so when will it disappear?

express gifts are studio24 and similar. you can only owe and default on something with those if you open a credit account and they cannot give those to under 18s

as you didnt and could tell them to take it off your file asap or else. tell them you will be taking the to fos if they dont and will be informing places like bbc wathdog that they are trashing the credit records of 14 year olds.

Is the date of birth on this account on your credit file correct?

A company can choose to give a minor credit. However the minor cannot be held to the contract.
