I am fascinated with this country and Pyongyang is definately on my bucket list.
Has anyone actually ever been?
I'd like to go as the country is just so bizarre and scary so it would definately be a holiday with a difference.

It'd be an interesting trip, that's for sure, but do you really want to put money in the hands of the awful N. Korean regime? No private enterprise allowed so every penny would go to the government.
It's the one place on Earth I wouldn't go, for that reason alone.0 -
It would be a holiday with a difference thats for sure. Unfortunately its a very sanitized and controlled experience you get and so nothing close to seeing the "real" DPRK. Unfortunately being controlled really isnt my thing and I am far too prone to spur of the moment decisions to go off wandering which probably wouldnt go down too well there.0

A friend of mine has been.
I will definately go at some point if only for the truly unique experience, although I'd probably do it as part of a longer travelling trip.0 -
I suppose they need the money from tourists to build more torture camps.0

Perhaps the report linked to below will give you some ideas for jolly places to visit on your trip to the people's paradise of North Korea.

Funny I've been asking for the last 3 days about people's holiday experiences of Belgium and not 1 reply, but North Korea and 5 replys already LOL it's a small world isn't it0

I understand N.Korea has a awful regime and that the vast majority of it's citizens live in extreme poverty, it's probably the poorest country on earth.
However, almost all countries (as well as companies) will have some policy I strongly disagree with and I can't be boycotting them all.
I too worry that I may just say something or speak my mind which I often do anyway. But it still sure sounds like an experience.
Btw, that document is 36 pages long!!0 -

Suspect that Belgium is fairly low on many people's holiday wish list. Dont know anyone who's ever mentioned wanting anything in Belgium other than Bruges0
