Simply switch not paying up - asking for bill..

Hi all, this may seem a bit of a naive question, but just feel a little uncomfortable with the situation and know there are a few sensible people on here!

I recently switched elec/gas and went via SimplySwitch who offered £40 cashback. The switch went through in April and surprise, surprise no cashback.

I got in touch with Simplyswitch who haven't been particularly helpful and asked for proof of the switch. I forwarded on a string of emails between myself, EDF (prev supplier) and OVO (new supplier) discussing opening/closing read and both suppliers confirming this. I thought that would be enough, but no. They have asked for a welcome email (which dont have now as will have deleted emails from April a while back). They have also said I can send a bill. I'm a little reluctant to send a bill as don't know a great deal about this company and my bill obviously has all my details on it. Does anyone have any views on this or had dealings with this company? I may be acting a little paranoid, so could just do with some reassurance!

Next time I will go through topcashback or the energy club!

Thanks

I'm waiting for Cashback from Simply Switch as well, switch was at end of April also. I have had various emails over the last month, last email was a week ago saying that they are in touch with Accounts team and that they have a new payment process and payments are taking longer than usual. Still no money in the Bank though.

Edit just to add the only information they have requested from me so far is my Post Code.

I went through SimplySwitch via TopCashback when I switched from EDF to OVO last April -initially the cash back was only showing as £15.75 (the amount for a single Utility switch) -it took a complaint raised via TCB to finally get the full amount (£31.50) credited earlier this month.
Are you sure that the cash back was £40? Can't remember seeing that offer?

Thanks for the replies. Brewerdave - yes £40 via a link on this site (not through TCB).

They've asked for my postcode too. Still waiting to hear from them as sent them my meter read requests from OVO as proof I am with them..

    Update

I was told that payment woukd be made last Wednesday, so in my account by end of last week yesterday at latest. I have now had a further email saying that this weeks payments will be delayed to next Monday in Bank next Wednesday, as accounts team are checking back up information for all payments. So Payment delayed a further week and a half.

Surprised MSE stll have a link to them, they obviously don't pay out. The link to the claim form to get the cashback in their FAQ's is dead - which is a bit of a clue !

I shall avoid them and any further links on MSE who are also just in it for the money/link comission these days.
  • Ofgem announced earlier this year that cashback payments for switching , via companies like Quidco and Topcashback would be banned. I would like to know myself if they have implemented the ban

Just been on TCB site...to claim my existing cashback as Amazon vouchers:T - they have a large number of cashback deals for utility switches on the front page eg NPower,First Utility,Coop etc plus several links to cash back offers thru comparison sites -so in answer to your question -they haven't !!!

I've switched through Simply Switch before.

They didn't pay until reminded them then.

Wonder why I used them again?

But I did and I'm chasing them up again (thanks to a reminder I put in my calendar!).

    Will not use them again!

I've complained to Ofgem (confidence code) numerous times and had no issues as the broker pays within days of coughing for their mistakes.
