CPP still selling old card protection products?

Can anyone let me know why CPP seem to still be selling their old card protection products, please.
I had my renewal notice in April for my card protection policy to renew end of July at a cost of £36.99.
According to the article on the MSE site, they no longer sell this product in the UK, and when I go onto the CPP site I find their new card protection product, 'card rescue', being sold at £19.99!
Surely they are not still mis-selling their old products?!
I am in the process of submitting my compensation claim as I think I was mis-sold in the first place, but I'd just like to know if anyone else has had one of the old CPP products renewed?

The selling procedures for new accounts have been tightened up to prevent mis-selling. Renewing existing insurance is not mis-selling.
Remember, there is nothing wrong with having insurance-it's only refunded if mis-sold.
If you are complaining direct to CPP then you had better get a move on-the refund scheme is being closed at the end of August!I am in the process of submitting my compensation claim as I think I was mis-sold in the first place0 -
Card rescue is not CPP.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

dear dunstonh
'Card Rescue' is one of CPP's two new products (see their website cpp.co.uk) but they have just sent me the renewal for their old card protection product which, according to the MSE article, is no longer sold in the UK due to it including insurances that were not relevant to most people.
PLUS, their new 'card rescue' service is only £19.99 where as my renewal for their old card protection product is £36.99!!!
Not sure how they can legally still sell this??0 -

They can "legally" sell any insurance. What they should no longer do is mis-sell it!
The financial product insurance mis-sellling scandal is not a legal issue, it's a regulatory one.
It's not somehow "wrong" to have insurance. The banks have ceased selling loan and credit PPI because the product itself has been largely discredited by being so often mis-sold. In other words, they'd find it difficult to sell now even if they wanted to.
However, they haven't ceased selling it because it's illegal!
Your own insurance renewal is perfectly legitimate because you already arranged it some time ago. However, if you can show it was mis-sold, it will be refunded to you.0
