the probate process requires the executor to fill in a form PA1 and if the value of the estate incurs no inheritance tax then also to fill in form IHT205.
I wondered if anyone knew why the form PA1 http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/pa01-eng.pdf
in section E appears to refer to the 2006 version of form IHT205 when there seems to be a current 2011 version

many thanks in advance

I think it's just a case of them not having updated the PA1!

I understand, thanks getmore4less, but if its a simple estate (no gifts, pensions etc) and is under the IHT limit then I can fill in just IHT205 can't I ? ie I'd answer none of the questions directing me to IHT400.getmore4less wrote: »You start with IHT205 till jt tells you to use IHT400 its not just IHT that trigger the change.
