Yep, for some crazy reason if the previous owner used up the allowance you get charged for the full amount from day one. Just been caught like this ourselves where the previous owner used up the 3 month allowance so we paid CT to the same council for 2 houses a mile apart.0

Just to clarify that there is no direct link between registration of a new property owner and council tax i.e. we do not message the council when the registration is completed.
Councils though do obtain and compare data around recent changes though so if you don't notify them they have a way of still checking for changes“Official Company Representative
