Santander 123: Anyone had problems getting money out?

With all due respect that's an entirely different scenario from the one under discussion here - OP is trying to transfer funds via Faster Payments from one account to another, the ring fencing you refer to relates to the authorisation process for purchasing from merchants with a payment card....0

(Hangs head in shame). I could just have left this thread to disappear down the pages, but in fairness to Santander I have to report that the error was all mine. I thought I'd transferred the money to husband's external RBS account. I had, in fact, transferred it to another Santander account in husband's name.
Santander were faultless - except perhaps in not doing sooner what today's customer services agent did: comparing the sort code and account number of the account to which I'd intended to send the money with those to which the money had actually been sent. Also, first customer service agent's claim that she could see that my payment had been held up for extra security checks was a load of baloney since the payment had, in fact, gone through instantly. Still, my fault Santander, and many apologies.0 -
Really good on you to post the resolution. It's great to be human, even if that sometimes involves making mistakes. Glad you found your money, a reason to raise a glass tonight
