we went a few years back, Just on a cheapy and it was fine.
The food was ok as in decent canteen food but nothing really to write home about but than again nothing to complain about either.
Our room was very basic but clean and tidy.
We only used it as a base as not into all the Hi De Hi thingy but thaey had loads on if you where which is why most people go.
We did use the pub on what I called the caravan site of the park which was a decent walk away if your in one of the top caravan we requested and got a chalet close to the main reception and were glad we did.
Go and have a good time ignore what people say about it, It's good clean british holiday camp fun with basic fill you up food
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

We went to Hafan y mor last summer and the year before. The site is fine, although we're not into the clubhouse bit, so couldn't tell you about any of that. The pool is good for the kids. We had dinner at the lakeside pub/restaurant which was cheap and ok.

We stayed in an apartment last year which was awful, filthy and in need of re-decoration, but the year before we managed to get an upgrade from a 4* caravan to a gold one which was fantastic.

The surrounding area is lovely, plenty to see and do.

I would definately go back again, but I would probably stay in a private caravan as they are better looked after and more homely.

Hope you have a good time.

Been there 3 times, last time half board and it's fine. Nothing fancy, but that's Haven. Food was usual canteen style, half board accommodation ok and clean. Nice pool but it's on the cool side. Site quite large and goes onto the beach at the back. Apparently it's the best Haven site there is, so we were told. It used to be Pwlhelli Butlins. Couple of small towns locally, but need car to get to.

Hope you have a good time
