What is the relevance of transferring a balance of zero?

Sorry, what I was meant to say was a 0% balance transfer. Obviously I have money in the current account that I want to transfer.

Wait, you want to transfer money from your current account or to your current account? If that's the case, you'll need a Super Balance Transfer which is currently only offered by MBNA and Virgin.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
  • By "best" do you mean the one with the longest interest-free period or the one with the lowest fee? Or do you have something else in mind?

I wondered about that and then decided that the OP probably meant the credit card account that (s)he currently has.

No, so I have a balance on my current credit card but the interest free period is nearly up, so I am looking to move this balance to a new credit card which has a 0% balance transfer.

My ASDA card was 0% for 12 months, or something like that.
