APCOA ignored my appeal

Hello, can someone please advise on what to do next. Briefly, I received a parking charge notice from APCOA for picking up a passenger on the roundabout at Luton Airport. The “offence” was committed in the second week in May and I received the parking charge notice through the post 18 days later. I immediately Googled what to do and found this forum which lead me to cut & paste an appeal letter that seemed to have been successful for others, I posted this straight away and kept the proof of posting. I heard nothing until last week when I received a letter from a dept collection company demanding £128 and containing the line “Our client has advised that they have not received payment or any valid dispute and therefore it is now too late to pay the discounted amount or challenge this notice”. I was the driver but the car belongs to my wife. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

add copies of the paperwork and a copy of the proof of postage

    no problem

the number of posts we get about some companies like APCOA and their useless appeals system beggars belief , especially in this day and age where you should be able to do it simply and quickly online and get an automated email receipt showing you have appealed

the more complaints the BPA get about this company alleging POFA on non-relevant land plus about their haphazard appeals system , the better

same applies with VCS and PE too as far as non-relevant land is concerned
  • Should I also write to APCOA or the dept collectors telling them that I am complaining to BPA? I only ask this as I'm guessing that the dept collectors are going to keep sending letters unless someone tell them that there is an appeal or whatever happening.

I would ignore the debt collectors and let the BPA bring their weight to bear on APCOA, there is no reason at this stage to contact apcoa or the debt collectors as you have done what you needed to do, and they havent

frankly, in these cases I would ALWAYS ignore the debt collectors, be it one letter or a thousand letters
  • Brilliant, thanks once again. I'll let you know what happens.
