Can I take the safe driving course in Leicester-shire?
Just got my 1st speeding ticket 38 in a 30 - £100 plus 3 points
That will teach me to go to Staffs for my holidays
I have been given a choice to go to (and pay £80 for) a safe driving lesson - in Staffs
But I live in Leics
No mention of how to arrange the course - not even a contact number - just that "I can"

When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

Leicestershire use a different SAC provider to Staffs, so Staffs have obviously just passed you the details of the organisation for their area.Just got my 1st speeding ticket 38 in a 30 - £100 plus 3 points

So you _might_ be able to transfer it, but it'll not be the same setup, and it looks like it'll cost you a tenner more. Ring the providers direct to find the best way to get it transferred.
Leics -> Staffs isn't exactly the dark side of the moon, though.0 -
I'll go with "highly likely", but it's still a leap of logic. I can think of a lot of non-residential 30s, and a lot of residential higher limits - even NSLs, including all the way through this village.
B'sides, let he who is without sin...0 -
I don't follow -you mean you have the option of a Speed Awareness Course instead of 3 points? Not both?
I'm surprised that they gave you that option for 38mph in a 30mph limit though, I thought the calculation was 10% plus 2mph, which you are well in excess of?
PS: it's not a 'safer driving lesson': it relates purely to speed awareness, and there is no practical driving tuition involved. No free lunch, and no free laptop

10%+2 is (or was?) the ACPO guideline threshold below which there's no enforcement at all.
I did an SAC for 40 in a 30 (non-residential...) earlier this year. Worth the half day, even if it wasn't for the cheaper plus no points incentive.0 -
Seems likely to me. I got caught in Lincolnshire earlier this year and they sent me a county by county list to choose from. A lot of them are run by AA Drivetech. You may be able to go back to the issuing body and ask for the list.Leicestershire use a different SAC provider to Staffs, so Staffs have obviously just passed you the details of the organisation for their area.I need to think of something new here...0 -
10%+2 is the cut off below which no action is usually taken at all. Speed awareness courses apply up to 10%+9.I don't follow -you mean you have the option of a Speed Awareness Course instead of 3 points? Not both?
