    Afternoon Campers,
Today's bits of money saving activity look something like this:
*Picked 12.5lbs greengages from our tree. There are more up there but mr f banned me from going up the ladder (or the tree) in these high winds.
*Made 13 jars greengage jam, stewed a few to make this week's fruit stretch further & managed to find room in freezer for 4lbs to use in crumbles, etc.....thus messing up mr f's 'Freezer tetris'....I just know he'll be taking that drawer out & re-doing it!) CLF - Your comment about this yesterday made me smile....I should hire him out, shouldn't I?
*Do rubber beef. Roast dinner yesterday, enough for 2 further meals plus 2 packed lunches.
    *Entered a competition.
    *Caught up with surveys.
*Froze more blackberries (one of our neighbour's invading weeds I'm making the most of!)
    *Updated budgets.
*Paid credit card bill in full.
*Filed latest 'My John Lewis' vouchers for free coffee & cake.
*Drained 2 jugs of free liquid plant food off the worm composter & shared it out between the rhubarb & fruit trees.
    *Watered greenhouse veggies.
*Caught up with surveys until the boredom got the better of me.
*Made gift-tags with some bits of free stuff someone gave me.
*Have word with cat about food in bowl needing to be eaten before new food makes an appearance. It's tough love in this house!
*Got up early so as to get a 2nd load of laundry done while still on cheap tariff.
*Everything line-dried perfectly in this very windy weather.
*Read energy meters & updated my spreadsheets.
*Did a load of admin.....not particularly money-saving, but we do always find we spend less/waste less money when we are being very organised, so I always find it's worth doing.
It's Monday, guys......new week, new start, let's keep those quids in our purses. Think 'green', think 'creative', think 'organised',
    Cheers,

    Busy thread today!

So sorry to hear about your cat, Bagpuss. Very sad, and such a shock for you too. Take care :(

    So far today I have:

Checked chickens over, all ok. The poor things had been badly pecked before we got them, but their wounds are healing up nicely now. Both laid eggs today :D

Been out shopping with OH to a town we haven't visited before - for us, shopping means charity shopping, so no worries, not much spent :rotfl: I got a big pile of books to read for under a fiver, and popped into a greengrocer's for some fruit, and got 2 huge cauliflowers reduced for 60p - a bit past their best, but I have rescued the good bits (a huge bagful) and fed the not so good bits to the chickens. Cauliflower cheese tomorrow :)

Other than that, just yogurt, cereal, lettuce and lemons bought at Lidls :)

Popped into sales unit with a couple of items to sell. Several things have sold since Saturday when I last popped in. Doing quite well at the moment :) I recently moved my unit from another antiques centre, and this one is both much cheaper and open for 6 days a week. I was paying almost twice as much at the old one, and it was only open 3 days. I almost gave up, but am so glad I decided to give my little business another chance :)

Took 3 coats to be dry cleaned. SOOO expensive

    Picked tomatoes and runner beans

All meals at home from food I already had in. I made a chorizo, cannelini bean and tomato salad for supper, to go with various leftovers and use some HG tomatoes :)

    Still to do:

    Walk dog

    Washing up

Hoovering that I didn't get to yesterday :o Might not get to it tonight either :rotfl:

    Read my 'new' books :D

Hope everyone has a nice evening x

    Today I have:

    * had home-made apple cake for breakfast, leftover pizza for lunch :) I think six apples went into that one cake (one litre of compote)
    * went into CAB this morning and did my final supported interview. I can now do them unsupported :)
    * had an ECG and a blood test  I am very proud of myself. Last time I had a blood test I cried and squirmed. Mind you I was only a baby... at 16...
    * went to Aldi and did a £50 shop. That will usually last us 10 days.
    * our neighbour came round and gave us some baking apples and some rhubarb!
    * had an aimless little rambling drive around trying to scout an area we want to buy a house in... instead found a village that was a cross between the 1300s and the 1950s...
    * at long last, the landlord has paid us our £427. Paid in the cheque. Now to submit some social policy evidence...
    * nachos, home-made cheese sauce and guacamole for tea.
    * found out my friend from London is coming up! Only for two days. But I have not seen her properly (like more than a few hours) since I left London two years ago...
    * relaxed, listened to some music :)

    Still need to:
    * check last four months' bills and ring Orange again
    * contact old employer about P45
