Monday 11th Aug - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Is it a zombie? Some hideous creature?! No! jut a clf without her coffee on a Monday morning!
Morning campers! Hope everyone's roof is still on. It was pretty windy and heavy rain here but we had a nice time laying in bed in the dark listening to it - free romantic ambience!
So back to the grindstone - here's the mission!- B/L/D from stores - oops ended up in the choccy box. very bad day!
- Take D to work with me to stop me from raiding the chocolate box
- Collect shower water for plants - done
- Log calories in free app - am still ok even with choccy debacle
- Back on food waggon - have planned this week's meals
- Charge phone in work - done
- Overtime! - still in work!
- OH out late doing a gig - will be paid expenses hopefully.
- Possibly some crochet, depending on what time I get in
- Keep house ticking over and tidy

Morning!
I still have a roof
1) coffee with colleague, but am only buying coffee (not food) and the filter is dead cheap where I'm going
2) lots of paid work today, for a summer holiday day (I'm a teacher so LOTS of days off at the moment!)
3) dinner is the pizza Mum brought with her on Saturday and pasta from stores
4) pick up prescription for gluten free foods for daughter (organise this time so I'm not buying stuff when I could be getting it for free)
I think that's all the debt busting stuff for today!
Happy Monday :j
In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work0 -
got to get back into a routine of tightening the purse strings still further so this has focused my mind
- work from home (saving petrol to get to and from work)
- post ppi claim forms - they've been on my desk for 3 days now!
- leccie on meter and milk in fridge are only spends
- phone virgin media to rearrange payment plan with them - they changed my account to 6 monthly billing with no warning... have to sort this out
- give DS1 a great birthday even if its not going to cost anything (I will cook him his favourite meal tonight) and give him a free ride on chores and so on

Ah, I'm not a school teacher; I teach piano so some of my students continue through summer.
Could you run any summer schools in your subject? I jointly ran one with a colleague and it was very successful, and paid pretty well! Easier with two though if you have a partner in crime?

Tiggy - could you look into private tutoring over the holidays?LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310

Hi all
Happy birthday to your son catandy, hope he has a nice day xx
My things for today:
Pay £40 cash onto Clubcard Plus - got it for my birthday in the form of savings stamps but they give you the change in cash, may as well stick it into the Clubcard Plus account to get the extra Clubcard points on the spend.
Pay £15 off credit card - £10 from sale of DS outgrown stuff and £5 left over from my "fun" purse over the weekend. Need to pay off £43 worth of new shoes for DS!
BLD and snacks from stores (Slimming World friendly)
Catch up on Slimming World thread saving me £4.95 a week on group
Banking - all ok

Back to work with a vegance, really buisy with 2nd job, this week I will be working 5 days in my main work and 5 nights in my evening work. Just keep thinking of the extra money and smile.

Haven't posted since last week as my cat suddenly died on friday:( she got stung by a bee and went into anaphylatic shock and then got brain damage all within 35 minutes. We got her to the vet within 10 minutes but it was already too late:(:( She was only 14 months old and we only had her for 8 months. So today I have had to find £240 for her cremation and the insurance excess, the vet hopes to deal direct with the insurance for his fees. Will start to post properly again after we have had her back, am still in shock:(Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024.
