Sony Account Hacked and Sony not helpful at all!

Thanks for the tip, but I as I said I have not used this account online before. Sony should show some support regardless, this fraud happened through their service, they should help their customers.
It does not matter if it's through a fault in their security or someone somehow getting or guessing a password, the activity is still fraudulent.
If they wanted to I'm sure they could trace the PS4, even deactivate the game or maybe ever ban the ps4 for known fraudulent activity, they are choosing not to do this or even investigate the matter properly. They are also choosing not to advise me on what to do, I still don't know if I should deactive the PS4 now tied to my account or if I should leave it for them to "investigate".
The game purchased in my history also does not show up properly like other purchases, it has no picture, just the title and date, to me this seems very fishy, like a hack so that they can collect the money!?
To me their email sounds like they think its a PS4 in my household and they think someone/maybe a family member has bought the game, which leads me to think they didn't really listen properly when I reported this, or investigate the matter properly otherwise they would have seen this as well.0 -
Unfortunately you'll get the standard 'its your account you need to look after it better' response from Sony.
They really aren't any good in this respect.
You didn't by any chance have a PS3 or PS Vita and sold it on?0 -
No not at all, I would make sure to reformat as well if I ever did that.0

The point im making...if the password was the same on your email account and in your email there is user ID for your Sony account...
well that can't be hacking and to Sony it cant be fraudulent - if it shows they logged in with your valid details etc etc.0 -
Visidigi I get that, but the password for my email is completely different to the password for my Sony account. Plus the game that is listed as being being bought looks strange, it has the title of the game but then no picture or details, looks as if it's a fake game that someone has used to then gain the money, you would think Sony might be concerned with that!
Any how my credit card company have picked up the ball that Sony dropped...0 -
Sony are notorious for poor policy when accounts have been targeted for fraud.
I had discussions with them over a disputed charge £12 & was advised the console will be banned from SEN if I did a chargeback.0 -
I had money stolen from my card by someone to pay for games on Sony,I do not have an account there,or own a console,Sony could not have cared less,so I went to my bank, and they refunded me.I still do not know who it was or how they got my card details as I am very careful, but Sony have gone down in my estimation,terrible.0

Same thing happened to me.
I have a thread lower down the board (can't link to it sorry as my post count is too low).
Been fighting it since June. £80 stolen from my PSN wallet.
This is what I have done:
1. Emails and phone calls to the the 'support centre' - I am simply read the Sony 'Terms of Service'. Support Centre staff at first lied about there being no manger/supervisor - then promised one would call me back...never happened.
2. Emails to the head of customer services and the Sony UK head - IGNORED.
3. Written letters via recorded delivery to the support centre and the above mentioned heads - IGNORED.
Am currently taking advice on how to proceed legally.
Sony don't care. They have the funds. Screw us. Outrageous behaviour.
I think when this happens to people like us....other users automatically assume we are at fault...and maybe we are....sometimes...but other times...maybe we aren't!
Sony have a 100% 'GET OUT CLAUSE' now with this terms of service. 1. They don't refund digital purchases (whether you made them or not) 2. Any security breaches are ALWAYS YOUR FAULT. Their 'Terms of Service' is totally unfair and therefore, in my eyes, of questionable legality given UK law.
This kind of thing is so widespread, that I seriously doubt that Sony customers are ALWAYS at fault. Especially considering in my years on the internet, this is the first time that something like this has happened...and only 6 months after joining PSN!
It stinks. Regardless of who is at fault, which is what Sony seem to cling on to...they should be providing a better response to an issue as serious as fraud.0 -
As much as I sympathise with being the victim of fraud, you do have a choice to accept or reject Sony's terms of service. If you agree and don't read them, then you only really have yourself to blame.
If Sony were to refund everyone who was the victim of fraud you would, undoubtedly, get those who play the system and rip Sony off. I can't blame them for having a strict no-refund policy.
The only way anyone can steal wallet funds is if they have or guess your password.0
