Belgium is a brilliant country, beautiful towns and cities, nice countryside, amazing beer!

British people are just boring in that they go to the same places and have weird prejudices about holidays in places like Belgium and Germany.

I know it's really strange , it's only about 30 miles from our coastline but a post about holidaying in North Korea got a better responce then my question about visiting Belgium lol . Thanks to all who have responded with some very usefull info , and when I get back from my travels I'll send you all an update

Or if they do go to Belgium they only seem to go to Bruges!


I have had people look at me like I am crazy when I have said I am going to Belgium on holiday and even ask me why! Or they say "Oh Bruges" to which I answer "No". When I went to Holland everyone assumed I was going to Amsterdam (actually my least liked place in Holland). Even the guy who checked my passport at the ferry docks asked "where are you going" to which I replied "Holland". He immediately said "Amsterdam" and then look puzzled when I said "No".
