Are their begging letters legal without a signature?
  • Legal in what way?

As far as I know they have the same legal standing as emails from Joshua in Nigeria who's uncle has sadly passed away.

    Whether signed or not.

Has anyone received a continuation of the initial "threat".

Not from a debt collector no, as they cannot litigate. Some people get court papers from a few PPCs on the odd occasion, but debt collector letters are just part of a junk mail chain leading nowhere.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi
I received a parking charge notice from a private company for not displaying a ticket. It was not clear that I had to pay to park so I appealed the ticket via email. I did not receive correspondence back from the company. I have now received a letter from DRP LTD who are asking for £160 when the original charge was £45. There said they emailed a response but I catergorically did not receive a reply. I have emailed and rang to explain why I didn't pay the initial fine. They have said the client will accept a payment of £100. I am not happy with this as the orginal fine was only £45. I would appreciate advice for the best thing to do next. Should I send a letter to DRP asking to put my account on hold and to dispute my charge? Thanks.
