Buying new washing machine, don't want soap drawer on the left !

As someone else has already mentioned, your simplest (and cheapest) solution is to get a smaller depth machine.
There are plenty of option. I have a cheap 7Kg Zanussi that washes just fine
Go to the Curry's and measure one to see if it fits

Yes I've started having a look at these, and as you say this is probably the cheapest option. It doesn't solve my problem of the left hand drawer being awkward to use if you have a left hand disability, but it should at least fit and open okay.
I never thought that buying a new washing machine would be such a palaver !

My son had one in his flat with the powder drawer on the left BUT it would swing out on a pivot, rather than pull out straight. Would that help?
I'm pretty sure it was a Candy but not sure how old it was.
I agree with the comments about Hotpoints.0 -

It would depend on which way it swings - if you see what I mean!
We used to have a Candy dishwasher which lasted for about 25 years, so I would be open to another Candy appliance - although I don't suppose they make them like that any more....
Many thanks, I will check this out.0
