Compensation for water leak

Hi,
I've just read this thread, but my problem is somewhat minor to that.
Twice in a month there was a leak from the window in my bedroom due to heavy rain, dripping down to the carpet (and then the carpet smells etc..). The LA sent a guy and said he fixed the drain, but as I mentioned, it leaked again.
This has happened in the past in a much worse situation, the leak was much heavier and the LA had to employ guys to clean the carpet, which ultimately left a stain. Note this was a different LA. I've been letting the flat for 5 years.
Can I claim any sort of compensation back? Also, I am leaving the flat by the end of the month.

Is the carpet yours?
What do you want compensation for? If its for inconvenience your probably not going to get a lot and I imagine the fighting over it is going to be more hassle. No. Things happen and go wrong in a property and there will need to be times when there is maintenance and repairs. You are renting a property not paying a premium service for a hotel room, and dealing with certain issues is part of acting in a 'tenant like manner'. If something major happened which massively affected the use of the property, like a big flood or no hot water for weeks, then it's worth asking but even then there's no entitlement.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

The hassle, the bad smell for days and the fact that they said they fixed it twice but they didn't. When I'm paying my money, I'm not paying for a leaking flat, nor for a non-existing service.0

Thy sent someone out to fix it problem, that fix did not work. They then sent someone to fix it again.

You have acted in a " Tenant like manner " and informed the Landlord and Letting Agent of a problem /Leak.
Make sure you take lots of photos when you leave and clean the property from top to bottom.
Do not use professional cleaners just do the job to a very good standard yourself.
Oven and bathroom should be clean.
You have lived in the property for 5years and "Fair wear and Tear" means you should get all your deposit back.
Refuse any deductions unless the Landlord can prove Damage
IE burn mark on carpet from Iron, hairdryer, curling tounges etc.
Holes in walls or doors !
Read meters and take photos, inform utilities( gas, electric and water ) you are moving out including council tax and TV licence. Give reading for final bills.
Redirect mail for one year.

I know, I just don't compromise with mediocrity and detest fatalism. The fact that "many landlords would do" doesn't set a standard as you mention. It merely identifies a trend in the UK housing market.0
