Do tradesmen 'speculatively sabotage'?

Had a plumber round to fix a leak yesterday, and went off for five mins to go to the cashpoint (It was an unexpected callout)
paid him yadayada etc and off he went.
That afternoon just as I was set to leave, I noticed a small puddle of water under my bathroom sink.
One of the taps has started leaking!!!
Am i right to be suspicious?

No I don't thing so, but you are right to think he has disturbed something and would be right to call him back.
It would be very unlikely for any tradesman to play that 1, yes we have heard of scams where more work is found, classic being 1 tile off and the roof needs re doing etc, but in this case I think you are wrong.
If you are talking about a leak in a different part of the house?, well, I just don't know.
I must admit I simply would not leave anyone in my home unless I absolutely trusted them.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
What was the original job?
It sounds like you have no trust in the guy so maybe call someone else0 -
Yes, BG are the worst. You call them in for an annual service and in a trice they've condemned your gas fire, gas boiler, gas cooker etc.0

What/where was the original leak?Had a plumber round to fix a leak yesterday, ......, I noticed a small puddle of water under my bathroom sink.

If the new leak is in the same basin as where he was working I'd get him back and make him fix it.
If unconnected, I'd fix it myself or get a different plumber.
Fixing a leaking tap should not be hard. There are plenty of utube guides to changing washers etc, or it might just be a joint that needs tightening.
Have you got an adjustable spanner? If not (and you are a home-owner) why not???0
