Help required, so many phones, deals, etc. any suggestions as to where I should start would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to spend anymore than £10 a month, less if possible. Son not to be trusted, will be on it all the time if not monitored!! Pay as you go or contract is my first choice I guess. He loves U Tube, I guess I could put restrictions on it regarding content and data usage. Help!! Thank you. My first post! 😃

1st choice is the correct choice, PAYG, also encourage him to pay at least half towards the cost of the handset, as A it will encourage them not to be spoilt B encourage him to be careful with the item.
Also , secondary schooling is most important and he needs to be succeeding at that point, not distracted with mobiles in class.0 -
I'll suggest the Moto E from Argos for £94 with delivery, Nokia Lumia on payg for £99 from Tesco Mobile.0

Tesco Mobile for a capped contract. Contract phone or SIM only.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If he is "not to be trusted" then I'd get a really cheap one as odds are if he uses it in class it'll spend more time in a drawer til the end of the school day than in his pocket.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Get him a Nokia 3310! Not much he can do other than call and text on that bad boy!0

I'd go for one that you can set-up automatic payments online (as in, you supply £10 per month). This way, he can use his credit to his hearts content and when it goes it goes.
If you are looking for a cheap phone - places like Cash Generator are handy. You can get a phone that has some features for not alot of money.
Of course we don't know what you mean by not trusting your son. Obviously giving a child unrestricted access to the web and a phone can be worrying... you wouldn't allow a child to wander city streets unwatched, so why let them trawl the internet. There are apps and software that can allow you to monitor phones (and locate it if lost) https://www.webwatcher.com/android-spy-software is one. In this day and age I wouldn't alow my child unrestricted access to the internet.0 -
Motorola Moto E from Tesco on a £7.50 per month capped contract. Both my secondary school aged children have it.0
