DLA renewals and payments

My current DLA claim runs out in 2 weeks and according to the DWP it is still sat in a tray waiting for someone to look at. Will my payments stop in 2 weeks if a decision hasnt' been made or will they continue?.

    im not too sure.
i know that if a DLA award has run out whilst a PIP claim is being processed, then the DLA claim continues until a decision is made.
i would think that as long as you returned the forms in good time, then payment would continue....
but that is just my opinion

My understanding is that PIP migrations from DLA - payment continues.
    DLA payments - stop.
They will - once the decision is made - if it's decided that you still qualify - be backdated to the end of the award.

thats wgat i thought but wasnt sure.
it seems unfair though, that if beingmigrated to PIP, the award continues.
    wonder if it couldbe challenged?

This has just been confirmed by my speaking to the DWP.. My concern is my mobility car and the possibility of having to hand it back if they still have sorted my claim out by the end of this month. My renewal is still waiting for it to be allocated to someone to be dealt with.

Thanks nannytone, hoping they will get a wriggle on with it though as they recieved the forms back at the very beginnning of June, the award runs out the 31st of this month so a bit of time left yet.

    Random thought.
I am unsure if it's possible while the DLA claim is live to 'self-select' for PIP.
This would then guarantee payment of the DLA components until the PIP decision is made.
(Be very sure that your condition warrants this - some people entitled to DLA will not be entitled to PIP.
