Home Report, Scotland 'An inspection for Japanese Knotweed was not carried out'...

Came across this in a home report of a house we were viewing... An inspection for Japanese Knotweed was not carried out. And then it goes on to say how bad it could be and how expensive to treat etc.
Why did the home report mention it if it didnt test for it? It is an older property, say 50 years old, so is it that all properties of around that age would mention it?

Mine refered to JK and the house is only 7 years old. Stated that they did not check, expensive to treat if found, may consider a specialist etc.
There is no JK in mine or my neighbours gardens.0 -

Betcha it says the surveyor didn't test the electrical system, the gas supply, the central heating, and any other heater fitted within the property. Why would they mention all those if they didn't test them?
So that you know exactly the scope of what they did. The HR follows a prescribed format, and JK doesn't come under any of the prescribed headings. Since more and more people are becoming aware of it, the surveyors are making double sure you realise it isn't in the scope of the HR.0 -
I wouldn't worry, it's says that on pretty much every home report
