Investing child's own cash into CTF

I'd like to move some of my son's cash savings into his child trust fund. Since the CTF needs a cheque for the lump sum I would have to write this from our account and take the cash from his. Can I even do this or is it contravening some sort of rule.....
Thanks!
Thanks!

Would the bank/building society not draw the cheque in favour of your son/the provider?0
