Debit card has been cancelled

Hi guys,

Received a letter from barclays today informing that my debit card has been cancelled as I've gone £2.98 over my overdraft limit. Will they be sending a new debit card out to replace this one then? Obviously the payment will be made to sort this defect out

Thanks

    well, no, unlikely

but depending upon your circumstances you might try phoning them and try to explain the reasons and ask them to change their mind

Why dont you just call barclays and ask them if you can credit the account with say £3, then ask for a new card to be ordered.

But when did banks start issuing letters to say they cancelled the card because your over an overdraft limit. Normally they would apply a charge for being minus amount. How long has your account been minus for??
  • I checked my online statement when I received the letter, and it went over 2 days ago.

I will just go into my branch tomorrow, to see what is going on

If this is the first time you've been overdrawn past your limit, I'd be surprised at Barclays taking this action. They must have special concerns about your account. What else has been occurring?
