ok, had some issues with the forum today. i keep getting a blank page with a message saying your request has timed out. i then have to refresh the page.

I've had that one, I used the back button and was then able to post without problems.
I suspect Forum Team are going to want to know what browsers and OSs we have in case it's browser specific: mine's Google Chrome (up to date) on Win 7 Pro.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Sometimes the last post will show as somebody elses. (had it on LOL cats) Happens when you search for your own posts. (though your post is actually last)
