Help with bank charges

Hello,
I have recently wrote a letter to my bank (barclays), asking for a refund of 4,000 pounds- unfair charges for the last 6 years.
I mentioned that I was in financial hardship and also had to seek the help of a debt charity (also enclosed a p45).
Barclays refused to pay me back the charges, claiming that I should have been able to manage my account properly.
I contacted the financial ombudsman, and I received a reply from them refusing to investigate my case due to significant level of gambling activities and payday loans companies since 2012.
I realise it doesn't look good, but since I couldn't find a way out I turned to gambling...
I no longer gamble and would like to pay off my credit card/loans and start fresh.
Is there anything I could do in order to get some of my charges back?
Thanks in advance.

Nothing now really.
Post a SOA on the DFW board for help to manage your budget so you can pay off your debts.0 -
Even though you say you don't gamble any more, you might still be able to get some help from http://www.gambleaware.co.uk/0

If you haven't already, read through http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges, but if you've already got final answers from both bank and ombudsman, the only option left would appear to be court if you're convinced you have a strong enough case, although I'd have to say that this sounds unlikely, based on what's posted above....0
