You assume wrong.
I've never, ever been asked the condition of a car when taking out a policy. Which company asked you that question when you took one out?
perhaps they asked but you missed it. Easily done, they go through a lot of questions.
Both times I've claimed they've asked if there are any other damages, on the car.0 -

I took out a new policy last week so it's very fresh in my mind. It was a long call and went through in detail about drivers and all the modifications to the car but not once was I asked about condition or any damage.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

Why do you have to assume this? Do you not have car insurance, and therefore draw on your own experience?
I have never, in over 20 years of driving, been asked about the condition of the car when buying insurance.0
