Redx, I don't think the OP has received a PCN, I think he/she is after saving money on parking.

OP, there is a park and ride in Norwich. I don't know if that will be of any help but season tickets are available. Also, have a look at other methods of transport in case buses are a cheaper option than driving and parking.

Also, this section is to help people who have received parking tickets. You might get a better response if you repost under the main heading of Motoring.

I would second Fruitcake's recommendation of the Park and Ride in Norwich. Colgate is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus station.

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

If hes prepared to walk 10-15 minutes he can walk from the Aylsham road/magdalen road area or Ketts Hill area from the other direction.
The areas near to the city are residents permit parking, but walk a bit futher and there is plenty of on street parking in quiet side streets during the day.Best to have a look around for a decent road to park.

Thank you for your replies, I will certainly think about what you've said, and I will be watching out for parking tickets and fines. Regards

You just need to go on Google Streetview and take a virtual drive round some streets - as abacab says, there are bound to be some residential streets not subject to restrictions. My OH always thinks we have to park in a car park when we go anywhere (such as when visiting Universities with our oldest kids) and I think the opposite! Seeing as I normally drive and he does the directions, we always find a local unrestricted parking place where no-one is inconvenienced by us parking there.

Your son just needs to look on Streetview and identify an area that looks as if it has no permit scheme. Start with the areas mentioned by abacab.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
