Tesco Current Account History?

Hey all,
Applied for a tesco current account last week, got a call back saying I was declined as they couldn't find a record with the CRA.
Fast forward to today and the decline letter arrived.....saying as a result of adverse informations on my file.
Called tesco and got through to the lending decisions department who were very vague and one person said if my score was too low due to not having a credit history they would deem it as adverse information and another said I would only get that letter if adverse history was found.
What would you make of it?
Going to apply for credit reports today but that's a struggle in itself as 2 out of the three main ones couldn't find any history for me or any matching information so can't give me a credit report. Urgh.

I have tried them but they cannot find any information on me so cannot supply a report. Totally mind warped by it all to be fair0

I have recently moved into the property but lived here many years ago, it's my dad's who is sadly deceased and house was left to me.
Brother lived here until 2 months ago, so far as credit checks and so forth have gone he hadn't been linked to me.
I guess I was just unnerved by them saying goes adverse information and insisting if they said that then that's what must be there. Having no history and trying to build it then hearing adverse info is on there is worrying lol.0 -
Just replied and had peculiar time-out msg when posting, more blip that assails this fen village. For whatever reason, post disappeared.
Tesco do not have real Banking staff. Unfortunately, that search will now have left a trace. I deal with them as I have a Clubcard Plus, which was too good for customers and has therefore been unavailable for some time, but comes under their Savings arm online.
I strongly suggest you phone them, going higher and higher up the food chain. Emphasise with quiet authority that this matter must be corrected NOW, while you are on the line with them. Explain that searches of other agencies reveal no trace and that this is unsatisfactory, as are the contradictory 'reasons' you were earlier given.
Ensure you are on the Electoral Roll too.

Thank you for your reply it has been very helpful. I have just had the phone put down on me by a rather Victor Meldrew lady when I requested to discuss the matter with a supervisor. Her curt response was "we cannot see the reason for your application refusal and as such we are unable to provide you with additional information. If your letter stated adverse information then this is what must have been found, although we cannot see this."
What a load of Hog s*****!
Frankly I'm very tired of the circle of nightmares I've been walking into. My father passed away 6 weeks ago and dealing with the legal aspects as well as the house ownership issues has been difficult, my twin brother having lived in the property before me left a trail of debt collectors and defaults behind him, BT took over a week to decide to provide a line as my brother had defaulted with them at the address less than 3 months ago, EDF energy borderline accused me of being my brother and trying to avoid paying and had to send them evidence of identity before they would open me a new account.
Along with this RBS turned me down for even a basic bank account, tesco are less than helpful, Having no credit history and moving into a property where my brother financially ran amok with no intention of putting it right has been difficult and irritating, but I guess I should be greatful that the CRA's have not attempted to link our accounts!
