Forgot to charge me
Took my car for its annual service today also had an additional air conditioning re-gas.
The man called this afternoon informing that the car was ready for collection then quoted the price. On collection at the garage he forgot to add the air con repair to the invoice so I only ended up paying for the service.
Since then, the mechanic has realised his error and called leaving a voicemail saying that I owe £55 for the air con.
What should I do ignore the situation? or Pay up?
As it was the mechanics mistake I'm wondering do I need to pay as I have a receipt for my payment.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I know this is MSE but not paying for a service you have received and assume you are happy with is taking the whole concept of MSE a bit far.0

You could try and ignore them and not pay, but if you do then I wouldn't expect any goodwill from them any time in the future...0

Legally you don't owe anything - you were presented with an invoice and paid it. Contract concluded, unless the invoice had E&OE (errors and omissions excluded) on it. (But don't expect to ever be able to use them again).
Morally ... they did the work (I presume) so pay up.0 -

That depends if the invoice includes the regassing or not. There may well be second invoice for regassing that has not been paid.
Either way, I wouldnt be the one to point out that they had forgotten to charge me for something but would cough up when/ if they did spot their error later. Unless its an estate agent, then I wouldnt.0 -

Wrong. The contract was formed long before the invoice was produced. The contract formed included 're-gassing and legally op owes the money.
in the same way if they overcharged op by a hundred quid she'd be entitled to a refund.
op let's hope you are perfect and never make a mistake then come up against somebody like you.0 -

Your boss asks you to work your day off for time and a half. At the end of the month he forgets to pay you the extra amount. Therefore he doesn't owe it to you....The man without a signature.0 -
A man does a job, you pay the man..... It's THAT simple.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
