Santander 0% Credit Card Ts & Cs

I’m looking for a 0% Card with a decent Interest Free period.

There’s a Santander Purchases Card which is “0% for 18 months from account opening” but, on checking the Ts and Cs I’m getting confused by this:

“Interest Free Period: Maximum of 56 days for Purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time”

If it’s 18 months 0% from account opening, where does the 56 days come into it?

Mightily confused.

The '56 days' refers to the standing conditions which will apply after the promotional period. Be advised, though, to stop spending on the card before the 18 months is reached (I suggest 16 months) clear that balance AT 18 months and then you have a 'clean' card you can use for the 'up to' 56 days on purchases again if you wish to continue using the it as a credit card.

  • Thanks, Milarky. That’s cleared things up.

I am getting married early October and have a few purchases remaining. My intent is to use this card to make those purchases and there should endeth my usage. I’d have the remainder of the 18 months to square things off, so i shouldn't have a problem with stepping outside any introductory rate.

    Thanks again.
