Toshiba rip off for repairing laptop

I bought a Toshiba laptop in June 13 for my accountancy work. A few months after buying it the screen started flashing black. Sometimes it would be just for a minute, sometimes for longer.
As it was under warranty I phoned customer services and they said I should send the laptop free of charge to Germany to be looked at. A week later the laptop was back with a new LCD cable thing.
A few weeks after that the flickering was back... again I rang customer services and they said to send it again. Off it went after a few days I got a call to say that the laptop had water damage and that was what was causing the screen to flicker, to fix it would cost £350... I was shocked as I knew I hadn't spilled anything on it, but then I couldn't be sure that my 6 & 3 year old hadn't without telling me, so I paid the money and got my laptop back.
3 months down the line and here we are again with the flickering... I have done abit of research on line and read that I could have a look myself which I have and once you take the display surround off the flickering stops... so my thoughts are it must be a loose wire.
Which then leads me to question... why the hell did I pay £350 to fix my laptop when 1 it's not fixed and 2. it seems it was never water damage in the first place.
Can someone please give me some advice..?
Thanks
Susan.
