The debts are (to within a couple of k) 24,000. Then there's the mortgage. I don't know what it is, the conveyancer told me she'd got a redemption figure but not what it was. I think it's around 28k.
I got three valuations and we agreed a sale price of £145k based on those. (The fact that dad and sister have acted to reduce the value of the house obviously couldn't be factored in).
There was nothing to miscalculate - my probate solicitor said that if I didn't accept it my sister would be able to take me to court to have me removed as administrator and that I'd be committing benefit fraud.
Dad and sister (although according to the conveyancer it's just sister, according to everyone else involved it's both of them) could only get a mortgage of 100k. If the debts end up being more than 55k then yes, I'll be getting less than sister. As I've said in my other thread though, I had no choice but to accept this offer. In fact, the original offer from dad and sister left me with 40k and worked out at a sale price of around £135k so I'm up on that.
You're right about the fact that now any extra costs will end up coming out of my share. Sister's is protected in the house, especially now that completion seems to have gone through. That's one of the reasons I don't see the point in seeing another solicitor about all the underhand stuff that's gone on - I'll be landed with the bill and there'll be no chance of getting anything out of it.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
