Tyres - Hankook or Toyo?

Would appreciate some info from car people...
I need two new tyres and the choice is between either the Hankook or Toyo brands, not being a car person I'd never heard of either - I understand that both are mid-range and both are roughly the same price. Any thoughts on which is a 'better' make? My regular driving is short town based journeys, my current tyres (Kumho) lasted 12,000 miles on the front wheels.
If it makes a difference the Hankook is a K425 Kinergy and the Toyo is a NanoEnergy 3
Thanks

Never had Hankook but we've got Toyos on our MX5 and they are a great tyre. I know rear wheel drive are kinder to tyres but we are now coming up to 25k on them and they have a couple of months left. Great in the wet as well0

I've used Toyo tyres on both my cars for the past five or six years and have been very impressed. I haven't used any from Hankook.
I'd suggest that unless you pushed your car to the sort of limits that should never be reached on a public road, you would be unable to tell any difference between them. Both are well regarded brands.0 -
Hankook are often fitted from new on Korean cars - I got nearly 20k from them on the front of my Hyundai i30, and replaced with the same as I was quite happy with this mileage0

Toyo will have good grip - replaced the original Bridgestones on ex's Mx5 with Toyos similar experience to Nodding Donkey.
But what car are you putting them on and why only choice of these two?
For value for money, usually Avon or Uniroyal show up - both good products

What size, what price?0

Thanks all, seems Toyo are the better heard of and have a good reputation from the comments so far.
To answer the Q's...
The car is a Hyundai i10 - size is 165/60R14 - they're both around £55 fitted so not much to choose from. I picked those two brands as I didn't want to pay much more than that and wanted a 'mid-range' tyre rather than budget or premium.
The main dealer quoted £77 for Hankook (although don't know if it's the same model) and said they were fitted to new Hyundai's as standard now rather than the Kuhmo's it came with but am always wary of main dealers being un-necessarily expensive!0 -

Out of that list, I'd be putting my £40 at the Avons, if budget was tight - or spending the extra £13 per corner on Michelin.0 -

Avon or Uniroyal £56 - 57 and if you se them cheaper, they price beat by 10%,

Funnily enough I was looking at tyres today, my Fiesta was fitted with Hankooks from new and they've been fine. On Blackcircles they are very close in price to Toyos, and both are £10 - £20 less than the more well known brands. I would say either is going to be better than the Kumhos you've got on it now.0

Uniroyal over Avons any day of the week.
Toyo over the Kumhos or Hankooks0
