Ford Dealing trying to rip me off?

I've organized to purchase a ford focus from drive the deal(a broker). I've been in contact with the dealership, arranged finance quotes etc and paid my non refundable deposit. Ford currently have a deal with contribute £2780 towards the cost of my car which I have taken since Im using their Ford Finance.
My car will be ready to collect as of the 18th August 2014 and I told them I would collect it on the 1st September to get the 64 registration plate rather than the 14 registration.
However, I've been told that the ford marketing might change which may increase the cost of the car/finance if I don't collect it before th 1st September. Can this be right or is he simply trying to bump up his figures before the 1st of the month?

The deal might have been dependent on the old plate. The plates don't mean as much now though anyway, so you may want to just bring it forward.0

Hmm it's strange. I can't decide if he's being helpful or just trying to hit targets. I know plates don't mean as much but for the sake if two weeks if much rather have the new one it possible :j
I did notice this on their website though!
"vehicles must be contracted with a UK Ford Dealer between 1st July and 30th September 2014 and registered between 1st July 2014 and 31st December 2014"0 -

Just checked there - any current offers end 30th September.
It may well be however that they want the car registered before 1st September to meet targets, hence the price they're willing to do.0 -
I would speak to them and ask them what they will offer you as an incentive to take it prior to 1st September, if they won' t offer anything, then tell them the website (take a printout of it) says you can have it after 1st September and that is what you want.0

In your position I'd me making a quick call to Drivethedeal advising them that the dealer wants to renege on the agreed deal. Given that the dealer has already ordered the can I can't imagine them backing out0

Spoke to the dealer directly, explained the terms and conditions on the website as mentioned in one of my posts above and he soon backed down, especially when I mentioned it's painstakingly obvious he is just trying to reach his targets. Also dropped the hint of pulling out of the sale and guess what happened? Suddenly, im allowed my 64 plate!
Amazing what a bit of bluffing can do! :j0
