Insurance against Russia

Ok, so that subject line sounds a bit funny, but I'm meant to be flying over Russia to get to Japan from UK at end of September and am concerned about them sanctioning airspace bans. Can I get travel insurance to safeguard this or would the airline refund/exchange flights?

What are you wanting to be insured against? The flight being cancelled or the flight taking longer than planned because of having to go a different route?
The former will be covered by normal insurance. The later is unlikely to be covered as delay is normally from your first port of departure not actually what time you get to your destination0
